ABOUT THE EVENT
This year, more than 50 riders, as well as their friends and families, converge upon the starting line at Ole Sereni Hotel on Mombasa road. The 3 day bike tour starting on the 24th - 26th August 2018, ends with a rousing Finish Line Party at the coastal city of Mombasa, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the famous Mombasa tusks and a few kilometers away from pristine white sandy beaches. The aim of this ride is raise funds for charity to aid the under privileged in the society and to create awareness towards the scourge caused by NCDs (Non Communicable Diseases) all this while touring our beautiful country on a bike, this promises to be an exhilarating and thrilling adventure on road. The core objectives are:
Poverty Alleviation through Education:
Help raise funds for two charitable organizations who educate underprivileged children in Kenya who are bright and are willing to pursue an education but whose parents are living well below the poverty line and are not able even to fend for themselves in terms of food.
Ride for Fitness and awareness towards the effects of NCDs:
The prevalence of Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) has increased because of the lack of proper diet regimes and exercise practices being incorporated in the day to day life. So we are trying to encourage more and more people to get an active lifestyle through such events and we also support many other events like this around the country.
Promote Kenya a safe and Tourist Friendly Destination
We have been blest with a beautiful country and with over 30 riders from Europe and 20 from Kenya, this is one huge platform for Kenya to showcase our very best from a very exciting angle, imagine touring Kenya while riding a bike for 500km from one city to another. This is something worth pursuing and participating in.
