SOME OF AFRICA’S CHALLENGING QUESTIONS
The Sons and Daughters of Africa especially those privileged with some education and foreign travel, should give answers to the following questions:
-
Why should most of African economies and people be relatively the poorest in the world despite the fact that Africa is potentially a rich continent with vast natural resources?
-
Why should most of Africa fail to feed herself with such fertile and vast uncultivated arable land?
-
When shall Africa get tired and fed-up with humiliations/indignity, negative international media publicity and ridicule owing to abject poverty, ignorance, preventable diseases and needless underdevelopment?
-
When shall most of Africa stop tribal, ethnic, religious conflicts and unreasonable wars, which inhibit or delay economic growth and poverty reduction?
-
Why should Africa South of the Sahara account for about 1% of global GDP and 2% of world trade?
-
Why should most of Africa be poorer now than 30 years ago?
-
Why should more than half the population of Africa live below the poverty line, i.e. less than US $ 1 a day?
